It is not very descriptive enough for a story. What did the signal man look like?? You have to be very descriptive otherwise the message of the story will not be sent to the readers. OK?? |

Yes, it is only a legend. I have read about a story just like this in a book. In both cases they are myths. -Universal Traveler- ![]() |

I am 48 years old now. I live that Maco all of my life, about 100 feet where the railroad tracks crosses the road. My grandmother lived across the tracks from us. She was born in 1881 and died in 1967 that the age of 86 and live at Maco all of her live beside the railroad tracks. She has told us about the story of Joe Baldwin many times. She said that there was a light that came down the tracks that Maco, until it just about got to the highway and it would disappeared, and it would reappeared again down that the railroad bridged and start coming down the tracks again. My grandmother also said that her father, which is my great-grandfather, who work that the train station in Maco would see a light coming down the tracks, and would think it was train coming and would start flaging the train with his latteren so the would stopped, so passagers could get onboard and there would no train coming, just a light coming down the tracks. She also said that the light disappeared when they re-work the railroad bridged in 1935. After that the light was gone. As a boy and as a grown man, I have never seen anything on this railroad, such as a strange light or lights or a ghost that the Maco tracks. My father, mother and two brothers and any of our friends that I grew up with in the community has seen NOTHING. Donald Mintz |
