While I have missed my father greatly since his death in 1995, I have had 3 separate occasions that undoubtedly prove his presence is still with me. The most recent is this..on a very pretty tuesday morning, for an unexplained reason, my attention was drawn to the shuttered window on the right side of my bedroom. I can remember thinking that my attention was drawn because it was sunshine that seemed brighter than normal....I became aware of an outline there, of a man, sitting in what I can describe as '3/4 profile' -- i thought it was a shadow projection from the ground, then realized that would not be possible for the height of the building, then thought that there was a cable or telephone person outside on a ladder because the silhouette was directly on the shutters...i thought maybe the cable was out and there was a repairman there so I rose from the bed to see if there was someone outside the window or anywhere, but it was only 7:00 AM, no possiblity of a repairperson! nor was anyone outside at all. It was clear, absolutely clear on the window, and it was from the waist up...somewhat 'small' for a man, and I likened the shape to (for lack of a better example) if you were to see the self-portrait of VanGogh in silhouette. I felt no fear, and immediately ran to tell my husband about it, but it lasted only 15 seconds.....after going to open the shutters, it was gone, but the memory of it is burned into my mind, forever...I know it was a 'visitation' from my dad, and felt a great deal of comfort by it....it is the third such experience I've encountered. How it changed my life:this was the third event I've experienced since my father's death and the comfort I have received is powerfully phenomenal in helping me deal with the grief, for I know now that he is truly 'with' me and has shown me this without a doubt. I get a great deal of comfort from knowing this!
