| Date: 10/2/1999 5:17:00 PM Comma-crazed paranoia! Why the commas? They are only appropriate where there is an obvious pause in the sentence. The author seems to write as if there is a reward each time a comma is used. It makes for extremely poor writing. I found myself rereading many of the sentences wondering if I had missed something. Good rule of them, author-baby: don't even use them. The downside for not having a comma where one ought to be is nothing compared to the universal pain suffered by those of us who read stuff like this. OUCH!!! P.S. If you questioned your "neighbor," how is it that "they" told you about the kids. Proofreading is not just a myth. Try it. P.S.S. If you learned from this experience that angels are there to protect us, how is it that the Psalms is a powerful protection? Were the angels working together with the Psalms that night? Which provided the whatever-it-was that saved you from the evil blue charred bandana? Or perhaps was it the lack of oxygen which prevented the bandana from further burning and possibly catching something on fire at your abode? What is your opinion about the power of lack of oxygen? |
