Amityville Horror Is This For Real ?

  Author: 1235  Category:(Interesting) Created:(10/24/1999 2:28:00 PM)

I would like to know if the Amityville Horror is true. The book says it is, but speculations are starting to arise about it's accredit. If anyone knows please reply, because it's one last burden off my mind. Also, if anyone knows if the Texas Chainsaw Massacre is true, reply.

Thanks, and God Bless You All.

How it changed my life:

I just want to know if I've been pulled in " hook, line and sinker. "

Date: 10/25/1999 1:46:00 PM    I am from Texas and I hear two things about the Texas Chainsaw Massacre, the first one I heard that they never caught the guys and they are still around and the second one I heard ,that one of the guys is in jail rotting away.So I mean ,in my opinion,I do believe that the Chainsaw Massacre really happend, how bad it was,I don't know. But,if you really think about it,there are probably some people out there in the country that still that do bizaree things and noone knows about it.
Date: 10/25/1999 2:08:00 PM  ( From Author ) From Authorid: 1235    Thank - you everyone for making things clear. I really appreciate it.
God Bless and take care.
Date: 10/26/1999 10:58:00 PM  From Authorid: 411    Go to www.amityvillemurders.com for all the info you could ever want. I've studied the Amityville case on and off for 10 years, and from what I've read, the story is true. The movie had alot of changes and embellishments added for entertainment purposes, but many strange things did seem to happen in that house. The web site mentioned earlier is a fascinating site. It gives some interesting insight into the DeFeo murders in the Amityville house.
Date: 10/26/1999 10:59:00 PM  From Authorid: 411    By the way, another interesting "true" horror story is "The Entity". Check it out sometime
Date: 10/28/1999 5:11:00 AM  From Authorid: 1459    I can assure you that the Chainsaw Massacre story is true. I've lived in TX my whole life and have heard accounts about it since I was little. Another neat little side bit, the first movie made about it was filmed in a very old house about 1 1/2 miles from my home. The house sits by itself on a hill and is gated up. I know that someone used to live there but don't know now. .JVAristocrat.

Date: 1/25/2000 2:12:00 PM    The Lutz story was a Hoax
Date: 3/4/2000 10:57:00 PM    Things like this do happen. I personally believe most everything happened in the book. I cannot confirm it because I was not there. However, I emphasize the fact that these things occur around the world. It is not hollywood -- it is a reality. I am aware of the realities firsthand.
Date: 3/9/2000 4:45:00 PM    The Amityville Horror was true. The book and movie embellished and
distorted the facts, but the story is true. If you'd like, go to www.warrens.net.
They were the first to investigate. They have spent close to 40 years helping
people with genuine demonic infestations. The movie Texas Chainsaw Massacre is not a
true story. The Character Leatherface was, however, based on a real
life person. His name was Ed Gyne. He was a transvestite. But, he didn't dress
up in womens clothes, he dressed up in their skin! (The dead skin had a leathery texture,
hence the name leatherface.) Ed was caught in the 50's and has since died. I hope this helps.
Date: 3/9/2000 8:15:00 PM    I believe the Amittyville Horror is real because my grandfather knows someone who live there. This person says it was the most horrifing 4 months of his life.
Date: 3/10/2000 10:19:00 AM    What kind of demonic messengars were supposidly sited in the AmmittyVilleHouse?
Date: 3/12/2000 3:58:00 PM    there is one way to solve the mystery; and that is to go there to amittyville. After 15 years of wondering--i am going this saturday to see for myself. e-mail back lorrileeny@aol.com. i am scared, excited, and nervous. but i AM going!!!!

Date: 9/29/2000 10:50:00 PM    In my opinion, the Amityville Horror is true and factual, but there were things added (to make it more scary).
Date: 10/1/2000 12:01:00 AM  From Authorid: 15527    yes, it is a true story. Shaylee
Date: 11/2/2000 5:43:00 PM    I would like to know about the author who wrote the book
Date: 11/15/2000 10:41:00 AM    I was under the impressioon that it was true. They supposedly tore the house down. it wasn't until last night watching the movie with my roomate that i began to have doubts. she remembers it being refered to as the ammityville hoax so i'm looking to find where that came from
Date: 11/24/2000 8:16:00 PM    one night i was watching a show on the discovery channel or something and they had a specialist go threw the house and explain everything that people claimed to have hapened.the specialist disproved everything except that the house was on sacred devil worshiping land.that was proven.I think that it is all true mianly because everyone has different beliefs so there all going to see something different in the house they are all going to have different things happen to them in the house so i think that it is all up to the person and their beliefs.
Date: 11/26/2000 11:00:00 AM    the story of the amityville horror is somewhat true...the media likes to over exxagerate stories though to get peoples attention.

as for the texas chainsaw massacre, it is a true story, but i'm not sure about the halfdead grandpa sucking on the womans finger, and i don't know if the story about the guy wearing his victims faces are true. that's something you should look up. :)
Date: 12/23/2000 7:52:00 PM    Yes, I think that the Amityville Horror was real.
The Lutz family even said they can remember it all. Including that spooky, unseen voice that said, "Get out!" This is my opinion of course.
Most say it's all a hoax, but I say it's TRUE!
Date: 1/11/2001 9:43:00 AM    I would like to take a tour of the house myself.
from Trevor, javabetaomega@hotmail.com
Date: 1/22/2001 1:49:00 PM  From Authorid: 24555    The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is definatly true. But it happened in a deifferent state. The Amityville Horror is true too but some of the things really didn't happen. Genina
Date: 2/8/2001 11:58:00 AM    they all did it for the money ,even ronald defeo murdered for insurance money.hoax for money.
Date: 2/21/2001 5:02:00 AM    as far as i know the amityville murders did happen in the 70's. And i dont think we could actualy say the house is haunted unless we visited it! But the house has had several owners in the past several years....the movies make it alot worse than it really is though! do some investigating! its fun! drew~
Date: 3/1/2001 1:24:00 PM    I need pictures of the Amittyville house for my son's book report, can't find a thing.
Date: 3/17/2001 8:25:00 AM    Dearest Sir,

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was based on a true story, but not about a guy named Leatherface. It was based on a story in the 50's about a man whose mom died, and he kept her in another room. He ended up keeping her in there and masturbating on her or something. Anyways, he killed two people I think, and the police found his home, which looked like the house from the movie. If you want to find all the facts ( which I know I have left some off ) go to Dogpile.com and type in Texas Chainsaw Massacre and it should get you the info you want. That's where I got my info from. Anyway, if I am not mistaken, Alfred Hitchcock used the incident to write Psycho. Go and find this for yourself, and if you find anything new, please write me at budo_gadsden@hotmail.com. Thanks and God Bless You All. In Jesus Name, Randy Engle, Gadsden, AL
