Before I married my present husband, I was seeing a very special man. I will call him Beau, to save his identity from getting out. Beau and i had known each other for eight years and had been dating for two yrs. Our relationship was an extremly rare one. We seemed to always know what was on the others mind and when we fought ( which was very rare! ) the arguement was over within an hour.
Anyway to get on with the story....
It was a nice fall afternoon, Beau called me and asked if i would like to go with him and his sister to see a movie.I said sure and he said he would be there around twopm to pick me up. ( it was around 12:30 when he called )
As soon as we got off the phone I called my sister and asked her to come over and help me with my hair. I wanted to look perfect. It took me around an hour to get ready. Thats including my sister doing my hair. Just as my sister put the last hair in its place, the phone rang.
I dashed up and ran to the phone. When i said hello Beau replied with a hello on the other end. Before i could say anything else, he started to cry and said he had some news to tell me.
His exact words where, " I am sorry my love but i will not, can not, pick you up today. Sara, I have to go away for a little while. I will see you again. Sooner than you think. I promise. Take care of yourself while i am gone. and Sara, i love you more than life itself." Those were the last words he said to me. Before i could tell him I loved him, he hung up.
No sooner did i hang up and the phone rang again. This time it was Beau's mother. She was also crying. When i asked her what was wrong she said that Beau was dead he ran his car head on into a telephone pole. Acording to witnesses and police reports he slid on a patch of black ice. There was nothing he could have done to stop the car from sliding. I asked her what time this happened and she said 1:30. As i hung up with her I realized he called me AFTER his car hit the telephone pole. Right After!
Six months later I was helping Beau's sister go through his stuff when we came across the clothed's he had on when he died. I do not know why, but for some reason I wanted to keep those clothes. His sister said that it was fine and handed them to me. As his shirt passed from her hands to mine, something feel out of the front pocket. It was a box. His sister picked it up and opened it. Inside was an engagement ring and a note.
The note read:
i have something to ask you
( get down on one knee )
WE have been dating now for two years.
I feel it is time to move forward in our relationship
( get ring out of pocket )
I love you more than life itself,
Sara, will you be my wife?
( memorize so you don't look like a dope! )
