Before it happened to me, I was convinced that most people who tell ghost stories were doing it just for the fun of telling a scary story. But, after what I've experienced, I'm a believer. Now, I realize that most ghost stories are just that, a story. But every now and then, I know that a true story or two crops up. How do I know? Because I lived a real-life one. So, I know that at least one is true. The trick is figuring out which ones are and which ones aren't. But, I respect your viewpoint. After all, everyone's entitled to an opinion. |

I truly believe that you have not seen a ghost. You do have a right to an opinion. It seems to me that you want to get replies that are in a negative manor, considering the fact that many of the stories are about spiritual encounters. I recently read one of your stories about your prediction of the Y2K Stock Market Crash. A lot of people may think that story is just a "bunch of bunk", as you say. I certainly didn't believe it, but I'm sure you did. Some people might have believed you. The difference is, in the year 2000, we will know if you were right. But, people who don't believe in the spiritual world won't know if its true until they're dead and gone. Hawk  |

Good point.....supposedly the movie "The Exorist" was true. The movie added some things I'm sure, but the ouija board usage was real. I don't know if I believe in the whole possession story, but there definitely was an evil spirit or presence. Hawk |

Now, as ever EDUCATED person knows: light is energy, NOT matter. Light exsists as protons. And these little clumps of energy can do just fine on their own. Regardless, you have no understanding of the physics involved here. You are seeing the universe in three dimensions. Whereas Einstein (you remember him, right?) prooved that there were at least 10 dimensions in our universe. The first three dimensions are the ones in which we exsist. Consider this: we live in dimensions 1-3. We can only see things that exsist in those three dimensions. Now consider anotherspecies, or even another civilisation that exsits in dimensions 3-7. Everything that they persieve would exsist in those 5 dimensions. We would appear as faint images with no depth and possibly no definite shape, as they would appear to us; a shadow against the curtain.  |

I agree light is energy. So where does the light from "ghosts" come from. Is it reflected or is it emitted. If reflected then that requires matter to reflect it. If emitted then It requires energy to make it.  |

You seem scientific, so why not use the scientific method: 1.observe 2.Hypothesis 3.Experiment 4.Theory 5.Law You jumped right to law before a simple observation. Forget physical matter, and E=mc2 you need to hit the books, and stop being judgemental. |

Author, I understand your position and I too am a skeptic regarding the paranormal and particularly most stories on this site. I don't necessarily agree with your reasoning but I possess only a moderate knowledge in physics and not a PhD. In my opinion, you have taken the rational position. I would debate author 1235 who states you should be 'scientific' and test your theory. I would ask 1235 how they expect you to gain a test ghost subject. Author 1225 is an idiot. Author 1225, Albert Einstein pointed out that energy does have mass. This has been verified by astronomers who observe the bending arc of light from a distant star as it traveles towards earth. This bending is due to the Suns gravitational pull on the passing light's mass. Protons are the positive particle inside the nucleus of an atom (neutrons and protrons, remember?). Author 1225, I imagine you meant to say 'photons'. You're a boob anyway for chastising a person with examples of a topic you know nothing about. The author of this story tries to take a reasonable approach to an unreasonable concept and you guys freak. I would say that it would be easier to disprove the existance of ghosts based solely on you people's inability to PROVE it. You expect this author to simply grasp these beliefs in blind faith.  |

Ghosts (in my opinion) can either be souls of the dead who are earth-bound due to any number of circumstances and do not go on to one of the "higher planes", or else are psychic "recordings" that become impressed into the atmosphere of places where highly emotional or traumatic events have occured. *AMRAK* |
