My birth mother was Virginia Ryder, maiden name Turner. She lived in Dayton, Ohio, on Coventry Road. She was working at Wright Patterson Air Force Base in the Signal Corps in 1944. On or about August, 1944, she met and had an affair with a 27 year old young man from California. He worked for a company which had war contracts with WPAFB, to the best of my knowledge. Virginia became pregnant, the young man was not told of this, and I was born on May 16, 1945, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dayton, Ohio, and placed for adoption. Approximately 12 years ago I was able to locate my birth mother but for reasons unknown to me, she refuses to give me any information re: my birth father. I would like very much to meet my father if it is not too late, and only if he wishes it so. How it changed my life:I was placed with a loving couple, especially my adoptive father. He was everything to me and taught me to be true and faithful to myself and others and instilled in me an honest work ethic which I practice each day. There is still a vacant place in my life which needs to be filled.
