Five years later, he was killed when he was struck by a truck. He always protected me before his death. I learned that he was protecting me afterwards as well. I was delivering travel trailers by pulling them behind a pickup truck, and delivering them all over the country. I didn't have to keep a log book, so I would sometimes drive until I couldn't stay awake. It was winter, and I pulled over to rest, my tire iron in my hand. I cracked the window a little and left the engine running. I had a pillow and just laid down on the big seat. I was awakened by a german shepherd barking inside the pickup truck. I sat up to see a man coming toward me with a club in his hand. I put the vehicle in gear and took off. Later, I lived in a trailer, and it was crowded the phone was near the stove. The stove was one where you had to light the gas with a match. I'd gone to bed, and the phone rang. I skinnied past the stove to get to the phone, then hung up and went back to bed at the other end of the mobile home. I was awakened by a german shepherd barking in my bedroom. I could hear the hissing of the gas, and I could smell the propane smell. I jumped out of bed, and opened doors and windows on my way to turn off the gas. It was then I realized that I didn't have a dog in the house! It was Rami's ghost coming to my rescue again. How it changed my life: I've always felt protected.
