But it wasn't a dream Daddy !!   Author: 1002  Category:(Ghosts) Created:(10/11/1999 9:50:00 PM) This post has been Viewed (1082 times) I was about four years old and my family lived in an old Victorian home that had been divided into apartments. My bedroom was attached to the main hallway by a door that always remained locked. One night after a bout of "can I have a glass of water?" "Will you tell me a story?" and "I haven't said my prayers yet." My parents finally put me down for a night of sleep. I remember waking up in the middle of the night and seeing my father standing in the doorway to my room. I remember not being suprised by this because my father used to check on my brother and I during the night. I was lying there looking at my dad but there was something different this time. My eyes got wide as I realized that I could see right through him. I sat up and looked at him while he stood there looking at me. I tried to scream but no noise would come out. I stood up in bed and he started walking across the foot of my bed to the other side of the room. He didn't break eye contact with me once. He seemed to move slowly and carefully. In retrospect it appeared as if he were trying not to scare me (I still laugh at that thought. As soon as he got to the door to the hallway I jumped from my bed and ran toward my parents room. To this day I don't think my feet hit the floor in their bedroom, I think my foot hit the threshold and I flew to their bed. I landed right in between my mother and father. I woke them both out of a deep sleep. I told them what had happened and they of course, consoled me and told me it had all been a dream. I knew it wasn't and to this day I remember everything so clearly. I wasn't a dream, I know it. How it changed my life: Growing up from that point on I was always afraid of the dark and afraid to go anywhere alone. I never knew how to explain the appearance of my father when he never could have been there.
