My grandmother had just dropped me off at my home in Centuria, Wisconsin. We had just returned from visiting the Como Park Zoo in St. Paul, MN which was about a 60 mile trip by car. I remember walking up my driveway, holding the string to a helium filled balloon that my grandmother had bought me at the zoo. My mom was looking out the kitchen window, watching me as I came up the driveway. Being I was only 5 years old, and this was the first helium baloon I had ever had in my life, I remember bending down and gently setting the string on the ground (as if the earth's gravity would hold it there) and then to my surprise, the baloon lifted off into the sky. I started to cry realizing that I had just lost the only souvioner I had of my and grandmother's trip to the zoo. I watched as the baloon climed higher and higher into the summer sky. Then, just as the baloon out of my visible view, I saw what to this day, I know was a UFO, it was a series of 3 strong lights, "fire" in color -- I can't describe the color, but fire bright and like an orangish-yellowish-fire white color combination -- and the shape was what I can only describe as Mickey Mouse shaped, like his head and two ears, as if looking at him sillowheted with a black background, it hovered for about 30 seconds, then took off so fast it looked like a comet, faster than any plane or heli-copter, and even to this day, I have never saw anything so artificial looking, that can hover in place, be able to "take off" at that speed through the sky and dissapear into the horizon. How it changed my life:It has made me more open minded when confronted with stories of UFO's, spirits, ghosts, strange and unexplained happenings, abductions, and it also made me read and study more about science fiction and out space program (NASA) and the SETI program.
