I had a dream three nights in a row that my little brother would be hit by a truck. It kept waking me up in the middle of the night with tremendous fear racing throught my entire body. You see, I had rocked him to sleep almost every night since he came home from the hospital. I loved to sit and rock back and forth in the chair to get him to go to sleep. We had a bond. Anytime he was tired he would come to me and I would hold him and rock until he fell asleep. I was fifteen at the time of the third dream and woke up frantic because of the consistancy of it. I dreamed that my older brother was driving a truck in the front of our house and little James ran out in front of him and was hit. It was horrible! That morning when I awoke from the last dream, my mom was geting ready for work. She was someone that always made us read the bible and pray. I ran to her and told her that I had a dream three nights in a row that Little James was going to get hit by a truck and John was driving. She told me not to worry because the Lord had everything under control. She told me that if anything happened while she was gone to call her at work. I said O.K. That evening my brother in law was out working on his truck in fornt of the house in Ft. Worth, Tx when I came outside to see what he was doing. He had just finished fixing it when I asked him if he needed any help. Little James was 2 at the time and inside of the house playing with the other kids. My brother in law said if I wanted to, turn the truck over to see if it would start. Well, I was fifteen and had never driven a standard before. I also didn't know the clutch had to be pushed in to keep it from jumping when being started.I was excited about helping Jerry fix his truck as any fifteen year old boy would be. I got inside the truck that was just bairly inside the garage and turned the ignition key. The truck jumped and started driving into the garage. At the time of starting the truck, Little James had somehow wondered into the garage right in front of the truck that I started. It knocked him down and completely ran over him. The truck hit the wall and rested on little James' chest. Before I had realized what had happend, Jerry was screaming " GET THE BABY." I flew out of the truck and reached down to pull him out from the front left tire. I was frantic. My whole world came down before me! I thought I had killed him. As I reached down to pull him out from the truck, I noticed next to Jerry's hands on the front bumper, three sets of hands. I was shocked because Jerry was the only one lifting the truck. We rushed him to the hospital where they did all sorts of tests on him. The test revealed nothing wrong with him. The doctor's repeated x-rays and tests only to determine the machines had to be malfunctioning because there was no broken bones, no internal bleeding, no nothing. Only a big tire mark from his right leg clear up to the left side of his chest. The doctors sent us immediately to Cooks childrens Hospital for furthur examinations. My older sister called my mom and told her what had happened. She said she would be home after work and that everything would be O.K. My sister carried him into the hospital where a team of emergecy staff was waiting to see him because of the report from the other hospital. As we went in, Little James wanted to be put down so he could play with his toy truck. He kept telling the staff,"Truck, Truck, want my truck." He cried for it and when he got it, he plopped down at the feet of the doctors and started playing with it as if nothing had happened at all. After the doctors seen this and looked him over, they said to take him home because there was nothing wrong with him and was something they had never seen before. It was truely a miracle! How it changed my life:This has been with me ever since it happened. I was the one who turned the key and not my brother. I realize that God showed me that he really is in control of any situation that we could ever face. It doesn't matter the circumstances surrounding them, It only matters if we trust him enough to take care of them, like my mom did!
