I was with my husband and our nephew on a camping trip at stonypoint woods in michigan when this all took place. We had just put out our campfire and were planning on going to bed when my nephew pointed out a really bright star out over the lake,(erie). my husband and myself joined him on the edge of the lake and had been watching this "star" for about 20min when all of a sudden it started moving toward us.the star travelled so fast that we thought it might have been a military jet or project of some kind. ( which is not unusual in that area because there are lots of military bases within a twenty mile radius of stonypoint)As the "star" got close to us we could tell it was loosing altitude and slowing down in speed. when the " star" got directly above us, it stopped.it just lingered over our heads not moving an inch. by this time my nephew and myself were scared to death, my husband however was in total amazment.i asked if we could go to our camper and he said " one minute i want to see what it does next." Just as he finished saying that a beam of light directly from the bottom of the "star" shown down on us. we all just froze. i have never been so scared in my life! the beam of light stayed on us for only about 30seconds however it felt like an eternity! then just as fst as it all started, the beam retracted and the "star" flew straight up. We all stood there watching it until we were sure it had dissappeared. How it changed my life:UPDATE: more sightings of lights have been reported all around lake erie. While i could not get a look at the ship becouse of the bright light others have reported it as being your S.O.U.F.O. lights have also been reported as being UNDER the water moving with the ease of a submarine.
