I only have one elderly neighbor and he's in my yard more than his own, so I know he's good ;o) |

We always check on our elderly neighbours. A few years back, my hubby had to break into our neighbours house. He found her in front of the heater, having suffered a stroke. She had been there for 2 nights. It was horrible to think that she could've died there. Luckily her neighbours, all around her were worried. We have a new neighbour now, and we are always checking up on him. |

Just the fact that a 91 year old woman was able to crawl underneath a car is impressive. |

I don't live near anyone elderly, we have neighbors who are retired who sit & watch our street all the time... they keep an eye on everything for us... I am glad that people do keep an eye out for others.. sometimes its the only help they have... |

Well I have a young family come over and see if Ted and I are okay if they don't see us around or in the yard gardening for a day or so, and I check on a neighbour older than myself and take her to docs appointments etc and I check on her every 2nd day. I've keyed my phone number into her phone by the bed so if she can to hit the button and I'll be straight there, but in case she can't, that's why I call her or go see or every second day...There is a big campaign on our tv's, radio trying to get more people involved for looking out for the elderly due to a spate of them being found deceased in their homes and had been for months and months. One poor woman had been laying on her floor dead for years....unbelievable!!! |
