Months ago I was hiking by myself on the east peak mountain in Meriden, Connecticut. I had a strange feeling I was being watched or that I was in the presence of something. Weeks later, I had read about a phantom black dog that roams the hills of the West and East Peaks. Rumor is, it appears briefly and to those that see it for the first time, it will bring them great happiness. Those that see it a second time are warned. A third sighting mean death is imminent. An average of three people die on these cliffs a year, from rock climbing, to slipping off the cliff, to suicide. Or maybe it's just the Black dog.
