Mother, Joyce Levina (or Lavina) Collins, was born in Texas - not sure of the city - to John and Rose Collins about 1934 or 35. She met me father, Thomas Edward Couch, in 1949 or 50. Because of her young age, she received permission from her parents and my dad and mom went to Lousiana to get married. She was only 15 at the time. They were married and in May 1951 my oldest brother, Thomas E. Couch, Jr was born (May 17), me - Brenda Carol (August 15, 52); Katherine Elaine (Oct 9, 53); Donna Kay (Aug 14, 55); William Eugene (Aug 9, 56); and Leonard (Dec. 18, 57). By the time she was 22 she had 6 children.. By the time I was 4, she was diagnosed with schzophrenia and was in and out of Milledgeville mental hospital in Georgia. When I was 5, I was placed with my brother in a children's home for a short time, then at age 5 my older brother and I were placed in a foster home; when I was 6 the 4 oldest were placed in Harp's Home in Cedartown Georgia (near Rome, GA). She, my mom, moved to Texas because of the doctor's advise; consequently, in the fall of 1959 after returning from Harp's Home to live with our father and his parents, we did not see her again. On April 5, 1960 our father died in a terrible accident in Hapeville, Georgia. The court gave our father's parents the guardianship of the 4 oldest of six. After that, our mom never came back to Georgia and we never saw or heard from her again. I have triedn, along with my sisters, to find her. We (the girls especially) would love to see her, if she is alive, or to see the other relatives. If you could help me with this matter or tell us what to do, it would be greatly appreciated. Please email me at cbtolosa@sandtech.net ... Thank You so much
