My best friend in El Paso, Tx was Mary Ellen. She had two older sisters and her mother worked for El Paso Gas Company. My parents both died very suddenly and we were moved to So. Calif. Mary Ellen's mother just had gotten re-married--this was in 1963. I cannot remember her last mane but we went to school together at Houston School and we played Battle on all of our luch breaks. Mary Ellen had waist length strawberry red hair and blue eyes. I never forgot you, Mary Ellen, if anyone knows her please contact me at sybil _8.hotmail.com How it changed my life:My friendship with Mary Ellen gave me a strong mental base that allowed me to survive the next 8 years. I was the oldest of 7 children that had lost their parents, were moved to another state, and placed into an orphanage. She had also, unknowingly, taught me that the world really was beautiful and that life could also be beautiful.
